Luxembourg/Leverkusen - TMD Friction launches the material composition COSID 818 on this year's HANNOVER MESSE. The organic friction product combining ultimate performance with optimum life cycle costs is introduced in the industrial application sector for the first time. COSID 818represents an attractive alternative to sintered friction materials while decreasing the overall emission output. Taking advantage of the intensive know-how transfer within TMD Friction Group, sintered friction materials could be successfully replaced by the organic material composition COSID 818. A low energy consumption in the production process together with improved wear characteristics optimize the operating costs. „With COSID 818 we offer a product that convinces with attractive life cycle cost and low overall emission output. This material composition features performance characteristics and stable compressibility values normally shown by sintered applications only. With optimized damping properties the composition additionally impresses with low noise emissions. Operation in noise sensible areas thus presents no problem," Dr. Roman Milczarek, President Rail & Industry of TMD Friction Group explains. Currently, COSID 818 is mainly operated in wind generators. The friction material is interesting for all industrial application areas requiring high performance levels combined with low noise emissions. The beneficial life cycle costs add to more acceptance of this high-quality material. In the future, industrial customers and engineering service providers will have access to a wide selection of high-quality product samples enabling them to investigate the suitability for a great variety of application areas in a straightforward and cost-efficient way. „Our products are a key component of highly complex industrial equipment. The know-how within TMD Group enables us to act as a reliable technological partner of the industry. Our distribution channels supported by application engineering services for various material compositions in the industrial segment offer the best environment to jointly develop optimum solutions for our customers," Dr. Milczarek summarizes. As already announced in a press release on 31st January 2013, TMD Friction will showcase the entire portfolio of the brands COSID and Dynotherm on the HANNOVER MESSE. In a treasure box replica an exclusive number of product samples will be introduced to customers.
